Nagpur: The revenue and forest department directed all field-level offices under its jurisdiction to immediately switch to the e-Office system for all correspondence and file submissions, and said no physical mail will be accepted at the govt level, according to a circular issued recently.
The circular said the secretariat fully transitioned to e-Office, but field offices still sent correspondence by hand delivery and email, both of which will no longer be treated as official communication.
It said all correspondence, including district-wise references, must be routed through the e-Office system to designated registry staff at the secretariat, who will forward them to the relevant section officers.
The circular assigned specific registry staff at the secretariat to handle correspondence from different revenue divisions.
It said field offices that lack necessary equipment such as scanners, computers, or digital signature tokens must arrange them immediately. Staff requiring training on the e-Office system must contact local MahaIT or NIC offices to organise training sessions or seek assistance from available IT assistants.
The circular said the move was part of the state's broader push towards a paperless, transparent administration under the Viksit Maharashtra 2047 vision.
